In the Angeles National forest, starting at Switzer falls trailhead. Continue down the Gabrieleno Trail to where Bear Canyon meets the Arroyo, Heading up the canyon along a beautiful stream, you pass many beautiful pools lush canyon full of life.Very thankful for a beautiful winter the canyon was full of water. The weather was warm and frogs and salamanders were out.
Under five miles total to the camp site, with an unsurprising early start. I made it to camp in 3 hours taking my time along the way. I had not been on this trail before this trip. I was so surprised by the beauty of the trail. The warm weather caused vivid blooms of yellow on the hills, lower trail was full green and cool.
The trail in gets a little rough bellow Switzers Falls the high waters made many a log jam along the stream some climbing was required. Many small stream crossings but well marked and easy hops, I was able to keep my feet dry the whole way. No major problems getting up to camp.The camp site is A little beat up could use some love. At the site made camp threw on my day bag and went to check out the upper trail towards Brown Mountain.
